What to expect during a pelvic health assessment
A typical pelvic health assessment includes:
- a detailed medical history
- a discussion on what an internal assessment is and what information it provides
- a discussion on treatment goals
- posture and gait analysis
- functional movement testing – squat, lunge, sit to stand, twisting, rolling, coughing etc.
- looking at how you breath
- an assessment of the range of motion and quality of motion of your spine, hips, sacroiliac joints, and ribs
- tissue assessments of the diaphragm, hips, glutes and abdominals
- an assessment of visceral and scar tissue mobility
- an internal assessment of the pelvic floor – vaginal and/or rectal palpation.
- a discussion of assessment finding and treatment plan
